Here's the latest instalment of buzzard footage from the hide.
It's shaping up to be a busy Spring with no less than 6 buzzards over the farm at once this lunchtime (and a sparrowhawk for good measure)!
As before, this young bird is always first in, arriving usually within an hour of the food being put out. Without disturbance it will stay put for up to an hour allowing for a good session of photography. The absence of magpies and crows in this footage is pretty interesting given how prevalent they were with the snow. Over the winter the hide has taken a bit of a beating from the weather and despite being made of the same materials as the jay hide (which is in great condition), I think it's time for a change.
Materials are ordered and the new construction should begin soon. I'll post more here as soon as I can but I'm pretty excited.
